Estaba organizando salir tras los pasos de los últimos Incas, intentar ver y comprender su mundo a través de la religión de sus descendientes, y alcanzar sus ruinas. Así me interné en la costa, el desierto, y en las selvas orientales del Perú y viví, en carne propia, una de las experiencias más fuertes y enriquecedoras de mi vida. Quería llegar a la última capital de la resistencia Inca y seguir las rutas de penetración a la selva, inauguradas por incas y españoles en el siglo XVI. Me propuse recopilar testimonios orales sobre leyendas y mitos locales, que de alguna manera reflejaran el sentimiento de resistencia de la región y lo conseguí.
